Explosive-decompression (ED) resistant grades of elastomer for seals - where we are world leaders - and low-toxicity fire retardant material for pipe supports, are two examples of ongoing research projects.

ED resistant elastomers

We lead the world in the development of explosive decompression (ED) resistant elastomers. Our five 'flagship' grades have been specifically developed for sealing duties in oil and gas production. They have been extensively in-house validated, and are tested, approved and specified by oilfield operators and equipment manufacturers. Three of these grades, FR25/90, FR58/90 and Elast-O-Lion^® 101, are qualified to the stringent Norsok M-710 standard.

High performance seals for wellhead, downhole & surface duties

These form the core of our oil and gas industry products. They range from 'O' rings in a vast range of materials, to highly specialised seals developed for dynamic or static duties on down-hole, wellhead, surface equipment, valves, pipelines and riser systems. Examples include: Teesele^®, Springsele^® , FS Casing & Tubing seal, 'O' rings, Solosele^®, EF Seal, Chevron^® Mud Pump Packing and P-Seal.

Drillbit, drilling string & MWD sealing

This is an area of expertise where our innovative materials and seal design capabilities are world class. We have been supplying OEMs for decades with products that enable equipment to perform better by improving sealing integrity and performance, and increasing its reliability to meet today's demanding applications.

Pipeline repair clamp seals

We have the materials and engineering capability to design custom seals for one-off repair clamps of up to 2.2m diameter. Our extensive range of high performance elastomers and diverse manufacturing facilities enables us to provide the best sealing solution for these often difficult applications - where the design has to combine high levels of sealing integrity with easy clamp assembly in hostile environments.

Flange gaskets & jointings

We produce precision cut gaskets to any shape, size or complexity from any sheet material - almost instantly. Our cutting capabilities include CAD/CAM controlled abrasive waterjet and laser systems that work directly from customers' CAD files, and digitised samples or drawings. All standard flange designs are held in memory.

Our ranges of sheet jointings and flat gaskets cover virtually all fluid handling requirements. They include compressed fibre jointings, Supagraf^®graphite-based products, Fluolion^® Integra White & Blue creep-resistant PTFE, and Gore-Tex^® gasket products from WL Gore & Associates.

Metakamm^® Kammprofile and Metaflex^® spiral wound gaskets are widely specified for high temperature and high pressure pipeline/vessel duties. They are well proven to handle high flow rates and vibration levels that are beyond the capability of conventional jointing materials.

API ring joints

Manufactured in the UK by API-licensee James Walker Moorflex, our metal ring joints conform to both API and ASME standards. Products include R, RX and BX ring joints, as well as lens, convex, wedge, double-cone and weld ring metal gaskets.

Pipework support products

Tico^® Pipe Grips and Clip Strips will mount and support pipework at up to 300°C - they dampen vibration, allow for thermal movement and provide galvanic insulation. Tico^® Bondslip sliding bearings allow movement with stable support for mechanical systems and pipework. All these products are widely used on offshore exploration, production and storage vessels - as well as for conventional shore-based duties.

Tanklid seals

Tankatite^® 440 tank lid packing provides reliable and efficient sealing for main tank hatch lids, cleaning and ullage hatches, on tankers carrying bulk liquid cargoes in all IMO classes. Tankatite^® 880 Super and Halo Manlid Seal are designed for static and mobile tank containers, and Tankatite^® 250 is for road and rail tankers.

Compression packings for valves & pumps

Supagraf^® Premier valve stem packing is a world-beating fugitive emission control product. Along with Supagraf^® Control for control valves and DuPont Performance Elastomers' KVSP^® high integrity stem sealing systems, we have emission control products for all valves that handle hazardous media.

We manufacture an extensive range of compression packings that caters for all known operating conditions with valves, rotary or reciprocating pumps and similar plant. Products are based on the latest man-made yarns, PTFE and high purity exfoliated graphite, as well as natural fibres and metal foils.

Bellows & expansion joints

We provide the complete engineered solution to ductwork expansion problems. The Comflex range of bellows and expansion joints we design, manufacture and install will cater for duties from -60°C to well over +500°C, and handle many chemically aggressive media.

Impact LDAR (leak detection & repair) services

Our Impact service combats fugitive VOC emissions at oil, gas and chemical sites. We monitor all piping components to EPA Method 21, record and track VOC emissions, schedule repairs, and carry out maintenance or refurbishment work. Then we make regular site audits to ensure the lowest possible emission levels are achieved.

Tension control fasteners

RotaBolt^® tension control fasteners provides accuracy to ±5%. These converted bolts and studs are custom-manufactured for critical applications where the failure of a bolted joint would have serious health & safety, environmental or financial consequences. They are widely specified for duties on pipelines, pressure vessels and offshore structures.
