Compression packings

Our vast range of compression packings for pumps and valves caters for all known operating conditions at power stations. Expanded graphite packings, such as Supagraf^® RibbonPak M and Supagraf^® Moulded Rings are proven for high temperature, high pressure steam service - we manufacture Supagraf^® rings in a variety of constructions for steam valve bonnet seals from a large library of mould tools. In addition, many of our multi-service packings - such as Liongraf and Fluolion^® Emulsion 2XA - are renown for long trouble-free operation in pumps and valves handling steam, fuel oils, process water and highly abrasive fluid media. We also supply Pump & Valve Maintenance Kits for the power generation industry.

Flange gaskets & sheet jointings

Metakamm^® Kammprofile and Metaflex^® spiral wound gaskets are widely used for high temperature/pressure duties by power stations on a global basis. In addition, precision cut gaskets from compressed fibre jointings such as our universal grade Chieftain^®, high performance Centurion^®and general purpose Sentinel^® readily fulfil the remainder of flange sealing requirements on fluid handling plant. In addition, our Super Twinsele^® XA/G is very effective for air heater hot end seals, where it can have a significant influence on combustion efficiency.

Jointings for heavy electrical plant

Nebar^®cork-elastomer jointings are proven worldwide for long-term flange sealing duties on heavy electrical plant. Continuous development enables these products to meet the increasing demands of switchgear and transformers. We have Nebar^® grades that resist hot transformer fluids of many different specifications, as well as SF6 gas.

Expansion joints & bellows

The Comflex range of expansion joints includes multi-layered fabrics for gas turbine exhaust systems, exhaust gas ducting, rotary heaters and penetration seals; plus elastomeric flue duct joints for fan discharges, FGD systems and moist/chemical applications. We also have flexible bellows for actuator arm protectors, transformer bus-bar weather seals and lever gaiters. Our rubber pipe bellows are are used on cooling water systems and pump connections, and our metallic bellows for hot water and steam lines.

Radial lip seals

Walkersele^®radial lip seals give highly effective bearing protection on rotary shaft applications. Our Walkersele^® Ultraglide has been specially developed and proven to provide greatly extended sealing life at high speeds in hot and abrasive environments. Using our patented Walkersele^® OSJ-2 On-Site Joining technique, seals can be fitted without plant stripdown.

'O' rings

Over seven million 'O' rings of inch and metric sizes are held in stock for immediate delivery. We precision mould 'O' rings in over 100 general and high performance elastomers, and are also UK authorised distributor for Kalrez^® perfluoroelastomer 'O' rings and other fluid handling parts manufactured by DuPont Performance Elastomers.

High performance elastomers & mouldings

We constantly develop and exploit new high performance elastomers that have improved resistance to chemical attack, abrasion, wear or extremes of temperature/pressure. These materials are supplied as custom mouldings, extrusions, sheeting and in rubber-to-metal bonded form to solve specific problems for the power generation and supply industries.

Anti-vibration mounts & slide bearings

Tico^® mounting pads are designed to dampen or isolate unwanted noise and vibration. They are used on bedplates, transformers and transformer cores, pumps and other types of equipment. Tico^® Pipe Grips and Clip Strip will mount and support pipework at up to 300°C - they dampen vibration, allow for thermal movement and provide galvanic insulation. Tico^®Slide Bearings allow movement with stable support for mechanical systems and pipework - including hot air ductwork support pads at power stations.

Tension control fasteners

RotaBolt^® stud and bolt tension monitoring systems are accurate to ±5%. These are used across all industry sectors where the failure of a bolted system could have serious health & safety, environmental or financial consequences. RotaBolt^® tension control is recommended for structural and mechanical duties, as well as flange tightening applications on pressure vessels and pipelines.

Plant maintenance & engineering services

On-site maintenance at power stations is one of our specialities. Contract work includes the replacement of ductwork expansion joints, refacing of flanges and installation of new gaskets, and gland repacking on pumps and valves. We also undertake the refurbishment of most valves, hydraulic plant, pumps and rotary equipment. Each item receives the expert attention of skilled craftsmen and technicials at one of our fully equipped engineering facilities, with all items tested and certified before re-installation.
