Dow contracts extended and renewed

Dow Portugal is the latest manufacturing site of The Dow Chemical Company to sign a three-year contract with James Walker for the supply of static sealing products and services.
Reported Didier Timmermans, James Walker's global contracts manager for gaskets: "We are providing Dow Portugal - Produtos Quimicos, Unipessoal, Lda, with Metaflex^® spiral wound gaskets, Metakamm^® Kammprofile gaskets and metal ring joints. In addition, we offer our full range of precision-cut gaskets in non-asbestos fibre, PTFE and Supagraf^® expanded graphite."
Staff at Dow Portugal can order products via James Walker's global e-procurement system to meet JIT scheduled maintenance demands and their more urgent requirements.

Three contracts renewed
The Dow Portugal deal was signed soon after three other Dow manufacturing sites renewed their gasket supply contracts for further three year terms.
These are at Terneuzen in The Netherlands, Stade in Germany, and Tarragona in Spain.
   James Walker instigated its original global gasket deal with Dow in 2001. Other areas supplied by James Walker include Australasia and SE Asia.
   "Winning continuing gasket supply business for a number of Dow sites proves the success of our local manufacture and supply strategy for global partnering deals", explained Diederik Neeb, marketing and business development director of James Walker Sealing Products & Services.
   "We have built a sound reputation with major corporations in industry sectors such as chemical, metallurgical, power generation and pharmaceutical, where James Walker is their chosen supplier of fluid sealing products and advice."
