This TFE/P compound - based on Aflas from Asahi Glass - was developed by James Walker as an explosive-decompression (ED) resistant grade of 90 IRHD for oil and gas applications where elastomeric seals work with high pressure gas, hydrogen sulphide, steamï and other aggressive oilfield media. Its chemical resistance to oils, lubricants and some fuels, approaches that of fluoroelastomer dipolymers. Temperature capability for AF69/90 ranges from +5°C (+41°F) to +205°C (+401°F).
