Chloroprene (CR) General purpose elastomers that are often known by the name neoprene.
Chemical properties CR compounds will give satisfactory service in many media, including mineral lubricating oils and greases, silicone oils and greases, dilute acids and alkalis, and some solvents.
They are also largely unaffected by sunlight and atmospheric ageing.
Typical operating temperatures -40°C to +120°C continuous, or +150°C intermittent.
Fluid sealing duties These general purpose elastomers are widely used for their specific chemical resistances, and ageing characteristics.
James Walker standard grades Supplied in hardnesses of 40-90 IRHD.
