Description This grade of hydrogenated nitrile (HNBR) elastomer is specially compounded by James Walker to provide low temperature capability with good rapid gas decompression (RGD) resistance. It is used for oilfield duties in very cold environments and where low temperature thermal shock from rapid gas decompression could occur.
Its other features include the excellent oil/fuel resistance of conventional nitrile (NBR) elastomers, combined with superior mechanical properties, improved chemical resistance, better weatherability and outstanding abrasion resistance.
Elast-O-Lion® 985 is validated and specified by oil producers and equipment manufacturers.
Working temperature range is -55°C (-67°F) to +150°C (+302°F).
