Natural rubber (NR) Materials based on natural rubber have high strength and high resilience with good abrasion resistance.
Chemical properties Natural rubbers are suitable for use in hot and cold water, ammonia, ethylene glycol, dilute acids and alkalis.
Typical operating temperatures -50°C to +100°C continuous, or +120°C intermittent.
Fluid sealing duties The mechanical properties of natural rubber are still favoured by many end users where its chemical compatibilies are suitable. However, limited resistance to heat, weathering and oils has greatly reduced the use of natural rubber in favour of synthetic elastomers.
James Walker standard grades Supplied in hardnesses of 40-85 IHRD.
