Description
This Walkersele® material and method of construction are specified for Walkersele® applications where butyl (IIR) rubber is required for chemical compatibility with fluid media. Walkersele® M5 suits housings fitted with retaining plates.
Media compatibility
Resistant to silicone oils and greases, ozone, hot and cold water, acids, alkalis, salt solutions, alcohols and glycols. Must NOT be used with mineral-based oils or greases.
Seal construction
Flexible back of butyl-proofed cotton fabric, with lip of butyl.
Maximum under-lip temperature
120°C constant: but note that under-lip temperature can often be substantially higher (eg, by 30°C) than fluid media temperature.
Maximum surface speeds
5m/s with Walkersele® D6 design.
5m/s with Walkersele® D7 design.
