Specialised metal machining
We provide a special service for the precision machining of proprietary metal components to tight dimensional and geometric tolerances, with excellent surface finishes and an extensive range of coatings. Typical examples include valve parts, metal-to-metal sealing rings, thin-walled casing hangers, lock-down rings, ring gaskets, BOP gaskets and choke gaskets.
Size capability is up to 2.3m (90.6in) diameter, in materials as diverse as difficult-to-machine stainless steels, high nickel alloys, titanium, and other exotic alloys – all with certified physical and chemical properties plus full materials traceability.
Thin-wall and special machining is undertaken in the UK by James Walker Moorflex, as licensed under API Spec 6A-0038 with accreditation to PSL4.
