Description
Our Chevron® mud pump packing (known as Shallex® in some regions) has been specially developed for the oil and gas industry.
It is a variation on our widely used Chevron® universal multi-lip packing that is highly regarded for reliability, long life, and its ability to work under adverse mechanical conditions.

Typical applications
High-pressure, positive-displacement triplex pumps used for mud pumping duties with a variety of media comprising different solids, oils and water content.
Materials of construction
Typically a seven or nine part packing set, comprising:
Header ring: nitrile rubber in a very high state of cure for rigidity.
Intermediate rings: two of nitrile elastomer-proofed aramid fabric, plus three of UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene).
Block gland ring: UHMWPE.
Spacers (when required): two rings of brass.
