ED−resistant materials

We have five 'flagship' grades of explosive decompression (ED) resistant elastomer, each of which has been specifically developed for sealing duties in oil and gas production. Three of these grades - Elast-O-Lion^® 101, FR25/90 and FR58/90 - are qualified to Norsok M-710 for ED-resistance and sour gas ageing.

These highly specialised materials have been extensively in-house validated, and are tested, approved and specified by oilfield operators and equipment manufacturers. They are widely proven to overcome the problems associated with high-pressure gas systems and the damage experienced to seals when there is a rapid pressure drop.

Specified for many high-pressure gas duties

Based on Viton^® fluoroelastomer FKM terpolymer from DuPont Performance Elastomers.
Norsok M-710 qualified for ED resistance and sour gas ageing.
Excellent thermal and chemical properties.
Widely approved and specified by operators and OEMs.

Low temperature capability

Fluoroelastomer FKM tetrapolymer based material.
Norsok M-710 qualified for ED resistance & sour gas ageing.
Operates efficiently at down to -30°C (-22°F).
Well proven in oilfield applications.

Highly developed hydrogenated nitrile HNBR material.
Norsok M-710 qualified for ED resistance and sour gas ageing.
Outstanding abrasion resistance and mechanical properties.

Well proven hydrogenated nitrile HNBR grade.
Operates efficiently at -40°C (-40°F).

High performance grade based on Aflas^® FEPM polymer from Asahi Glass.
Excellent ED resistance at up to 205°C.
Excellent resistance to sour (H₂S) crude oil and gas.
Excellent resistance to steam, amines and bases.
