Description
A robust gasket, comprising a flat metal core with expanded graphite facings. The core is often 3mm thick stainless steel or carbon steel.
Typical applications
Large diameter gaskets where the steel core supports the expanded graphite sealing elements to improve greatly the ease of handling and installation. Also used for heat exchangers where seating space is limited.
Temperature ranges
Oxidising atmosphere: -200°C to +400°C.
Steam: +650°C.
