The Position
James Walker are looking to recruit a Skilled Milling Machinist to join the manufacturing team at our UK Bingley site. The Skilled Milling Machinist will specialise in manufacturing small batch bespoke products.

Key responsibilities

  • To maximise production, whilst ensuring good material utilisation, high levels of quality and planned/allocated set up time are achieved.
  • All products are manufactured efficiently and at a rate comparable with the allocated time stated on the works order.
  • Product is manufactured to meet customer delivery schedule.
  • Effective and efficient use of all available resources.
  • Adhere to the company quality system; ensuring manufactured product is of highest quality.
  • Comply with companies H&S Policy.
  • Manage work schedule effectively.


Experience/Qualifications:

Essential

  • Experience of operating CNC Milling machines up to 40inch/1 metre.
  • Dexterity and mechanical aptitude
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of imperial and metric measurements.
  • Be able to use and identify measuring equipment to verify your own product before submitting to quality control.
  • Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and be detail oriented, flexible and self-motivated.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of engineering processes or demonstrable ability to learn.
  • Experience of 6S standard
  • Siemens, Mazatrol, Fanuc, and Haas machine controls beneficial.
  • Experience of using 90 degree angle head on Haas control.
  • Experience of 4 axis rotary table on Haas control.
  • Experience of working with super alloy components i.e. Inconel 625, 825 and 718
  • Experience Spark erode, Wire cutter, and EDM machine.
