James Walker achieves Cyber Essentials Certification
James Walker is pleased to announce that it has achieved the UK Government’s Cyber Essentials security certification.
Cyber Essentials certification is seen as a leading indication of corporate responsibility in terms of securing the company’s systems for the handling and storage of information and a required standard for many UK Government and Ministry of Defence supply chain contracts.
Cyber Essentials has been developed by the UK government in consultation with industry to provide a sound foundation of basic cyber hygiene measures which, when implemented, can significantly reduce a company’s vulnerability. The scheme’s set of 5 critical controls and network penetration tests, is applicable to all types of organisations, of all sizes and provides protection from the most prevalent forms of threat coming from the internet.
James Walker is in no doubt that the requirement for this sort of certification will rapidly grow from Government and Defence contracts to cover the majority of business around the globe and sees Cyber Essentials as an important first step and practical component of a wider ranging cyber security programme. The business is now continuing its development of cyber defences throughout its global infrastructure to underpin future success and reassure its customers that James Walker is a trusted and secure supplier.
