AF69/90 - RGD resistant

 Aflas based with rapid gas decompression resistance

This material has been superseded by Vermilion Six, which offers improvements in performance in key areas. Recognising that AF69/90 has been a market-leading material for many years and is written into many specifications, this material remains available on request.

This TFE/P compound - based on Aflas from Asahi Glass - was developed by James Walker as a rapid gas decompression (RGD) resistant grade of nominal 90 IRHD for oil and gas applications where elastomeric seals work with high pressure gas, hydrogen sulphide, steam and other aggressive oilfield media.

Its chemical resistance to oils, lubricants and some fuels, approaches that of fluoroelastomer dipolymers. Temperature capability for AF69/90 ranges from +5°C (+41°F) to +205°C (+401°F).
