Walkersele® Supaglide

Description
Walkersele® Supaglide is based on reformulated high-strength hydrogenated nitrile (HNBR) elastomer, for demanding applications with rotary lip seals in the metallurgical sector. 

The compound contains special additives that extend the material's performance envelope. This makes it especially suitable for both abrasive and higher speed applications with rolling chocks where sealing integrity and long working life are important factors.

Supaglide K is for seals installed in housings with retaining plates.
Supaglide M is for self-retaining seals installed in open housings.

Special features

Typical applications
Developed specifically to provide improved performance and wear resistance at higher running speeds on rolling mills and heavy-duty gearboxes in the metallurgical industry.

Media compatibility
Excellent resistance to a wide range of mineral and synthetic lubricants used in metallurgical plants.

Seal construction
Supaglide K - Flexible back of reformulate HNBR-proofed aramid/glass fabric. Lip of 80 IRHD reformulated hydrogenated nitrile (HNBR).
Supaglide M - Moulded in reformulated HNBR of 80 IRHD, with a stainless steel band encapsulated in its back. 

Maximum under-lip temperature
150°C constant, or 170°C constant in oil. But note that under-lip temperature can often be substantially higher (eg, by up to 30°C) than the fluid media temperature.

Maximum surface speed
Supaglide K: 25m/s with Walkersele® D6 design.
Supaglide M: 20m/s with Walkersele® D6 design.

How supplied
Walkersele® Supaglide K and Supaglide M are manufactured to order in Walkersele® D6, D7 and D8 designs.

Both types are supplied in endless form. Supaglide K is also available as Walkersele® OSJ-2 for On-Site Joining: this type is suitable only for housings with retaining plates..
