A private owned global manufacturing organization, supplying a vast range of high-performance fluid sealing products and associated knowledge-based services to virtually every industry sector. With state-of-the-art skills in materials technology, particularly relating to elastomers, polymers, composites and engineering plastics plus extensive expertise in precision machining of exotic alloys for metallic seals, and tension control fasteners for bolted joints.

Your Role
Are you naturally driven by growth, have sales experience in Engineering within the Defence, Oil & Gas, Power & Energy, or Processing sectors? If so, look no further. As a Field Sales Representative you will be responsible for developing business within your given territory from your own endeavours with the support of the Business Development Manager and Key Account Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify business opportunities by establishing sales prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analysing sales options
  • Develop a robust pipeline of opportunities with your assigned customers and manage this activity using the company opportunity tracking tools.
  • Proactively arrange appointments with existing customers by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
  • Identify and negotiate with the decision makers within a customer organisation
  • Plan, organise and prepare approaches and sales pitches to your assigned existing customers
  • Participate and liaise with the Customer Service Representatives and Internal Key Account Managers at the Customer Contact Centre, Crewe in solution and service
  • Work closely with the relevant Key Account Manager and Business Development Manager
  • Maintain specified Quality Management procedures and standards consistently
  • Provide leads and referrals to your Field Sales Colleagues
  • Represent James Walker UK at exhibitions, events and demonstrations

About you

Essential Experience

  • Experience of working in a sales orientated role
  • Understanding of Engineering techniques

Preferred Experience

  • Project Management
  • Contractual Exposure
  • Commercial Awareness
  • Understanding of Engineering Drawings

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical/Maintenance Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • Time served Mechanical/Maintenance Apprentice
  • Formal recognised Sales Qualification
