The Position
We are currently looking to recruit a Goods In Inspector on a fixed term contract for 12 months. Based at the Elastomer Manufacturing Business Unit in Cockermouth, Cumbria working in the Logistics department.
The hours of work are 37 hours per week on day shift (07.55 hrs to 16.00 hrs Monday to Thursday, and Friday 07.55 hrs to 12.00 hrs). The starting salary is £24,420.90 per annum.

Key responsibilities

  • Booking in all bought in items.
  • Inspection of bought items including complete basic visual and dimensional inspection. Quantity check to be completed. Stage 1 inspection concerns/queries to be raised with Purchasing Department. Cure date, shelf life and batch information to be verified (where applicable).
  • Quarantine cage and quarantine log to be maintained.
  • Laboratory samples to be processed and taken to the laboratory.
  • Controlling Consumable and Engineers Stores including issuing consumables, cycle counting, booking in goods.
  • Document collation – collating any documents that are requested at the point of booking in and forwarding on to relevant parties.
  • Loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
  • Collaborate with other departments to conclude Goods In queries (Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality etc)

About You

  • The ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • A good appreciation of certification requirements.
  • Previous experience of working within a similar role would be of an advantage as would inspection experience.
  • Exceptional organisation skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A conscientious and proactive approach to work with a right first time attitude.
  • The ability to pay particular attention to detail and quality of work.
  • The capacity to build and maintain great relationships, both internally and externally.
