The Position

We are currently looking to recruit an Operator working the day shift on a permanent contract. This role will be within the Materials Technology Centre based at the Cockermouth Manufacturing Business Unit in Cumbria.

The hours of work are 37 hours per week on day shift. The starting salary is £25,153.53 per annum with the ability to progress to £27,817.88 per annum.

Key responsibilities

• Weighing out ingredients, mixing, milling and packing of rubber compounds to support the JW manufacturing operation.
• Processing of bought-in fabrics into reels for use in the manufacturing operation.
• Responsibility for quality of own work.
• Picking and putting away of raw materials and fabric, cycle counting, regular stock checks on high value and consumable materials.

Experience/Qualifications:

• A flexible approach to duties.
• The ability to pay particular attention to detail and quality of work.
• The ability to build great relationships.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.
• A pro-active approach to work and getting things done.
• Basic IT skills.
• A fork lift truck licence would be an advantage or a willingness to work towards this.
