Sales Manager

What You'll Do – Your Mission

As a Sales Manager, you’ll be accountable for the adjusting and implementing the local sales strategy within the guidelines and expectations of James Walker, to deliver profitable and sustainable growth within the designated B2B customer base, through effective opportunity management, cross- and upselling, and new customer acquisition in line with Industry Sector Sales Plans and the company’s product, sector and geographic priorities. The role leads, develops and motivates a high-performing field and internal sales organization, translating strategic plans into clear actions and individual responsibilities, ensuring high productivity, excellent customer experience and the consistent achievement of agreed business objectives, while operating in full compliance with safety, quality and ethical standards.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the achievement of sales, margin, and growth objectives by adjusting and implementing the local sales strategy within the guidelines and expectations of James Walker, managing key accounts, identifying priority market segments, and ensuring exceptional customer experience, satisfaction, and long-term retention.

  • Build, lead and continuously develop a high-performing, multi-channel sales organization (Field Sales, Key Account Management, Business Development and Internal Sales) through clear goal setting, structured coaching (including joint field visits), capability development, motivation, and the establishment of a strong culture of performance, accountability, ethics and compliance.

  • Translate business strategy into clear SMART objectives and individual account plans, ensuring every team member understands their role, responsibilities, and contribution to revenue growth, customer development, safety and regulatory standards.

  • Own end-to-end sales performance management, including KPI definition and tracking, pipeline and opportunity management, prospect mapping, pricing and margin control, new customer acquisition, and the delivery of accurate and reliable sales forecasts in close cooperation with Finance and other key stakeholders.

  • Drive rigorous business review and planning processes through timely and high-quality management reporting, monthly and quarterly performance reviews, and continuous challenge of results versus targets to secure sustainable growth.

  • Act as a key interface between Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Technology and Global Accounts, enabling effective market intelligence flow, coordinated go-to-market execution, and the generation of new business opportunities through strategic networking and strong internal collaboration.

  • Strategic awareness, with excellent commercial and analytical skills to translate customer needs into compelling business opportunities through a proactive approach.

  • High level presentation and influencing skills at various levels of a business.

  • Ability to problem solve and make focused and considered decisions.

  • Adaptable to change and able to lead others through periods of change.

  • Ability to build excellent relationships, internal and external.

  • Excellent IT and Microsoft Office Skills

  • Applicants must have native-level proficiency in Italian and professional level of English

Preferred:

  • Technical background, preferably in mechanical / chemical engineering.

  • Knowledge of sealing products and services.
