This document aims to clarify and support the “H₂ proven” statement carried on Devlon® V‑API marketing material — third‑party tested and validated by James Walker for use in hydrogen service.
In the case of a highly combustible gas such as hydrogen it is essential that fugitive emissions are
kept as low as possible and independent testing has proven that Devlon V-API is a strong performer in
this respect.
Permeation testing was carried out at Element Materials Technology Ltd in the UK. The results,
summarised below, show that Devlon V-API has a very low permeation coefficient — particularly when
compared with other comparable materials — confirming its suitability for working with hydrogen.
