Hygienic gaskets for biopharmaceutical applications
James Walker provides a range of high specification sanitary and hygienic gaskets specifically formulated for biopharmaceutical applications. These hygienic gaskets are manufactured using FDA compliant material and are tested and certificated to USP Class VI. Compatible with CIP, SIP and WFI systems, James Walker’s hygienic gaskets provide long-term dimensional stability with very low compression set, which gives our clamp gaskets excellent long-term sealability with no, or minimal, intrusion.

High performance hygienic seals
Our range of hygienic seals is available in two high performance materials, Elast-O-Pure EP75B EPDM elastomer and Elast-O-Pure SIL70 VMQ silicone. The Elast-O-Pure materials range was created from the ground up with a focus on reliability and high performance to fulfil the unique hygienic seal demands of the bioprocessing industry.

Our Elast-O-Pure EP75B material offers 50% lower Total Organic Carbon (TOC) extractables than typical EPDMs used in biopharmaceutical applications, thereby reducing potential risk of product contamination and the resulting costly process downtime.

The Elast-O-Pure range of materials has been developed from first principles to meet the specific requirements of the bioprocessing sector.

Our highly controlled manufacturing process, with fully documented chain of custody, provides a reduced risk of failure due to consistent product quality and full traceability of the raw ingredients.

Our range of hygienic clamp gaskets is available in two high performance materials, Elast-O-Pure EP75B EPDM elastomer and Elast-O-Pure SIL70 VMQ silicone.

Our Elast-O-Pure EP75B material offers 50% lower Total Organic Carbon (TOC) extractables than typical EPDMs used in this application, thereby minimising potential product contamination.

In addition, low adhesion to stainless steel, even after thermal cycling, avoids potential equipment damage and offers an easy, quick change-out.

  • Extremely low compression set (~6%) for long-term seal stress retention without retightening
